Ways to eat almonds - Salty Soy Snack

I'm not a nutty person; litterally. Most nuts just don't go well with my tastebuds but almonds does. There's a few kind of nuts I like but almonds are my favourite and I eat them with so many different things - as snacks or in meals.
Here's a little series of how I like to eat almonds.

#1 Salty soy snack

These little diamonds are the easiest to make. They are so easy that it actually takes longer to eat them than make them - how we wish it always was, right?
They taste salty but are much more healthy with soy sauce than actual salt, and we know how all the wise people tells us not to eat too much salt daily.

Here's how you make them:
Take 250gram of almonds and put in a bowl. Pour two spoonfulls of soy sauce into the bowl and mix it well together for about 20 seconds. Put them down and let them soak for at least 5 minutes.
Take a baking sheet, spread them out and roast them in the oven at 150 celsius for about 10 minutes - remember to turn them once during.
When they're finished take them out and let them cool until they're completely cold. Enjoy.

Danish Dream Cake (picture heavy post)

I don't know about you, but I am definitely one of those people with a 'cakey'-tooth. I would pick cake over crisps and sweets any day and when I'm having it one slice is simply not enough to satisfy me. You may call me the cake-monster if you wish.

The other day I had a big craving and lots of free time in the morning so I put on my special apron and got crack-a-lacking in the kitchen.
I have tried to google the name of this cake in English but I could not find anything and I've actually only ever seen it in the Danish kitchen and we call it Dream Cake. Sounds dreamy huh? Well I think it is, it's probably one of my favourite cakes ever.

It is very simple to make, it requires just 6 basic ingredients for the cake, 3 for the topping and it only takes 25-30 minutes to cake in the oven.
I snapped lots of pictures during (so glad that that's considered normal in this blogging-community) and picked of some of them to show the process :)

If anyone would like a recipe I'd be happy to post it, but I haven't put it on here right now as it would take me a little time to translate it and - I might as well be honest - I am in a pretty lazy mood ;)

How to cheat in cupcake-making

I thought I'd share these adorable little cupcakes I just made this morning. I usually quite enjoy baking things from scratch but when a cheap (£1!!) and cute offer like this catches my eye it'd be foolish not to go ahead and try it out.

All I had to do was add water, oil and butter into two seperate premade flour blends, whip it up, 15 minutes at 180° and voila! Piece of cake. Litterally.
You get 25 tiny cupcakes and they're so cute you just wanna eat them!  ;)

These are made as a little treat to snack on while coffee is served, at least that's what we'll be using them for tonight when we're having guests over. My mum is preparing a three course meal, she's making the entire house smell like heaven, and I'm secretly tasting everything while she's not looking (shh), and it tastes delicious. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it tonight, you just gotta see it!

Easy healthy cookie ❘ blogilates

1 banana + 1 cup oats + 1 handful rasins -> 15 minutes in oven = easy healthy cookies

Doesn't that sound a little too incredible? This easy recipe is from the fantastic Cassey Ho, see her directions and video here. I've been using some of her other recipes succesfully before and this one just sounded too easy peasy not to give a go. Honestly, only 3 ingredients and none of them being bad for you? I like the sound of that.

So I made them this morning for breakfast (oatmeal, banana & rasins, that's pretty much what I eat for breakfast anyway, just add the milk) and enjoyed them with a cup of mint tea. They were a little dry but I'm a big fan of dry food (I'm unusual indeed) and they were so filling, I was hardly able to finish the last one! (But of course I did...) The raisins were optional but they gave it a very nice sweet taste so I'll definitely add them again the next time.

My mum had one and did not want a second one. I ate seven. Suppose it's a matter of taste, but definitely give a go sometime, it's too easy not to!
