No twitter, facebook, instagram, blog or tumblr?

I hope you've had a splendid weekend, had a chance to reload your batteries for Monday so you're prepared for another week of life :)

The highlights of my weekend was our family-blockbuster night and our massive Saturday feast!
Mum and I also played a boardgame which doesn't happen much these days with all this technology so that was very nice in particular :)

Something I've thought about this weekend is what do I actually spend my time on? I had a big think and realized that I don't do much with my days and what a terrible waste of life that is.
Apart from a little cleaning and a walk or two with my dog, all I do is  check my phone and computer constantly... It saddens me just thinking about how obsessed I am with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and all the other stupid addictive kerfuffle there is online.

So I've decided to take a break from it all and use my time more wisely on things that nurtures my soul. I haven't quite decided what that could be but I'm sure I'll figure something out as soon as the computer and phone is banned. Perhaps a walk in the forrest or a little reading? Haven't done that in a while, and I have some Jane Austen I bought in London but never got around to. Endless of possibilities, I mean, the internet is less than 30 years old, people obviously had other things to do back then! Right?

I'm not brave enough to go for a whole week so I'll start off with 48 hours with no internet. I am so scared that I won't be able to go phone&computer-less but I'm determined to do it - otherwise I'll be so disappointed and even a little digusted with myself. (harsh words!)

In the mean time I'll probably scribble down a post of 'What to do for 48 hours with no internet' - haha.
All I have left to say now is to have a wonderful Monday and Tuesday everyone who's reading this, already excited to catch up with all your blogs and photos on Wednesday ♥

Don't run from who you are

Credit here
Ever since I've been a little girl I've always been known for my ability to dream my days away. Most people I've come across in my young life have either made fun of me and the way I see the world or tried to convince that I'm deluded and unrealistic. What I have come to realize these past few days (I've been awfully inspired and encouraged by perfectly exciting books and films) is that sadly enough these people did get under my skin and I've been, for quite a while, suppressing the things in myself that makes me who I am.

People can label me a daydreamer all they'd like, actually, to be quite frank, I take a lot of pride in that quality in myself. But don't anyone dare call me unrealistic just because my reality is simply different than theirs. As a 19 year old I am stood infront of big life decisions and scary paths in life I have never seen before. And mix that with years of suppression from society, now that's a big cocktail of an unpromising view of the world. I've been so upset with this modern era we live in today and so hung up on thoughts about that this world didn't have anything to offer to someone like me. But I've now realized something truly great today. It matters not what the world holds for me, but what I bring into the world.

I'll sit on the hill under the tree wearing my dress glued to a book if I want to. I'll dream and wish for love so grand that it fills up my soul with energy and butterflies. I'll have dreams of far away countries and all they have to offer. And I will definitely expect kindness and openess from the world wherever I go - and am I not met by such, I shall simply give them some of mine. I cannot change and I thought I was the kind of person who'd never try, but it turns out I have been trying to be something I'm not and I won't keep on doing it anymore.

Now that's some Valentines day I've had, don't you think :)
I hope you've all had a wonderful day whether you celebrate Valentines or not. The world is everything you make it, so why don't you make it your favourite place to be.

Love,
Nanna Emma

ps. that felt really good.

Life is currently.... jumbled

I am so confused and indecisive these days! How's that for an intense start to the post.
It seems that all serious life-questions and decisions are thrown at me at the moment and it also seems that I'm much more of a 'let's put our feet up, have some good food and enjoy our family and friends' person than a 'let's go do this, I want to see results as quickly as possible!' kind of type.

I've been sitting day and night searching for the right kind of education that suits me but there hasn't been many that's ticked my box. The few I do find quite interesting either has A) an expiered filing date or B) too high standards which I can't live up to. So my life is currently one big question of "What do I want to do with my life? *sigh*. Sadly, I cannot teach at Hogwarts and I cannot live in a hobbit hole with a bunch of hobbit kids(though that would literally be everything I wanted), so I have had to dig deeper and after many hours week after week I did very much manage to find what I'd love to do professionally. I have some ideas and plans on how to get on from here and I would very much like to tell you all about them when I've actually put them into action...

While I'm doing my best to cope with my current jumbling life I've been taking extra joy in my dog, Smuth. The older I get the more I appreciate people and things, and this little boy up there in the photo's has always had a massive place in my heart, but as the days goes by, he's really nearly taken up the whole thing!
He's actually sat beside me at the moment, begging to be played with, so I'll be off now. It was really nice having a bit of a ramble here on the blog. I tend to forget how feeing it is writing random posts, which I musn't forget again.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend, have a good night's of sleep and have a great Monday tomorrow ♥

ps. I realize this post is once again written in English. I change my mind all the time, I realize.
It's just that somehow I find it liberating to write in English instead of Danish. Did you know that I actually do most of my thinking in English as well? It's really not normal at all.

“There was nothing I wanted to be.” Norwegian Wood

I'm lost, hopeless and in lack of inspiration. What do I want to do for the rest of my life, what is my passion, what am I good at? My heart and brain is in turmoil at the moment. I don't know which education to choose. I'm a little too happy with just being Nanna - the girl who dream her day away.

Happy Christmas to all x

Christmas jumpers are for everyone right? ;) Missed this boy so much x
I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I won't be on the computer until next year (boy, that sounds like a long time) as I really want to focus on my family especially my lovely grandma.
I've had a really great, hard, eventful (graduated!), funny, magical and learning year. Blogging these last months has been a real joy as well, so a hearty thank you to all my chummy readers.

Have a wonderful holiday x

Feeling good

A 6 minutes walk from home, down a cobbled narrow road decorated in fairy lights, a turn to the left and there it is, Oliver's Village Cafe. I've only been there three times, but it's three times in four days so I'd say it's quite a lot. Wish I could go there everyday or work there.

I went there this afternoon and had some lunch. Feeling a little adventurous I went for a vegetarian quiche (are quiche's always vegetarian?) as I've never had one before and completed it with a cup of chai latte there was large enough to last me a whole hour. I craved a slice of one of their yummy cakes as well but thought I'd better not as I wasn't actually hungry anymore and since I've been wanting to lose a little bit of weight. The quiche was very good, decided with myself that I must eat quiches more often.

As I sat there in the café snuggled up in my corner with my fooc, drink, HP book and Joni Mitchell playing softly in the background I realized just how happy, healthy and fortunate I am. I have been aware of this before but today I just really felt it in every fibre of my body.
I don't know if it's just me getting older or me being away from home or perhaps a mixture of both plus having a very great morning but it really striked me today; I love life.

So. Thanks. World. Thanks to everyone in my family for giving me the greatest childhood, an amazing family-bond, a security I can always count on. Thanks to all my dearest friends for being who they are. Thanks to those who reads my blog it absolutely brightens any poopy day. Thank you to all the strangers who treats me with kindness, thank you grass for being green, thank you everyone for everything.

My 5 core values

I have given myself the task of finding the 5 core values of my life and sharing them here on the blog. I've always felt like I know who I am and what I'm about (I'm not afraid to fully defend the things I feel strongly about in an argument) but I must admit it's been quite a struggle trying to whittle it down into words.

It has made me ask myself questions such as "what do I stand for?", "what inspires me?", "what kind of person do I wish to be?" and those are all big time-eating questions. I really hope you'll get something out of reading this and perhaps even doing this task yourself. It'd be a real pleasure to read your greatest values in life, so if you feel like doing this please leave a link of it in my comments.
There are no wrong or right ways to do this, choose 5 things you find yourself immersed in fully and happily and just generally things and traits that speaks to you.

Here's the 5 I narrowed it down it. There are lots of other values I find important but these are the 5 core values I think are the most important to me right now at this point of my life.

1. Family
I value my family above everything. My family is my all and I would do anything in my power to protect them and keep them safe. They amuse and infuriate and entertain me by turn and I love them fiercely with every fiber in my body.
They are everything I could ever ask for and I would not be able to be who I am without them. They provide the love I need in order to be strong and composed. They strengthen my self-esteem, they give me courage, they make me creative, they give me hope and they give me the kind of safety and love that makes me able to love others.
I cannot imagine a situation where I would choose anything over my family.
That is the main core of who I am and what I appreciate in other individuals. I always find myself drawn the most to other people with a great family bond.

2. Kindness
This is such an important thing in life and sometimes I wish the world valued this trait more than it seems to do. Kindness should be in everything that you do, it is the foundation of being a good person and I believe it to be one of the keys to happiness. My parents have always made a big deal out of teaching my sister and I to be kind and polite towards others. They would always ask us if we'd remembered to say please and thank you and give one of our smiles to those who didn't have one. It doesn't cost you anything to be kind, so why not be it every day? It's a wonderful thing to be :)

3. Independence
Today's world are built up around individuals and yet most people either follow others or lead others. Ever since I was little I've never felt the need to be a part of any of those things. I've always been perfectly content with just being myself and if there weren't any people around me with the same interests or values as me I would simply just be on my own. And I've never ever seen that as a problem - I've always been rather comfortable with silence. I realize we're all different and all have different needs and paths to walk in life but I really value people who are independent enough to know what they stand for and who's able to make a decision of their own. Yet another key to happiness; being independant makes you feel comfortable, solid and safe and most importantly happy.

4. Faith
Believe in something. Believing is a major part of my life and I pity all of those who can't believe. I'm not necessarily talking about religion here; believe in the greater good whether it be a god, Father Christmas, the Easter Bunny, your best friend, Mother Nature ect.
The important thing is that you believe in something good, cause believing brings hope and I cannot imagine anyone truly living without hope in their lives.  Use all your senses to take in the beauty and wonder of the world. There is so much out there to believe in.
I've always told people that I believe in God but I don't mean a specific God that people have in their religions. It just means that I believe in something greater. Because to me the term God is 'something greater'. And 'something greater' to me equals all things good. I have never stopped believing in Father Christmas, though my awareness of my faith to him has changed since I was a child, the faith I have in him is still the same. He is the essense of goodness and joy and hope and I believe in everything he stands for and I will pass my faith on to my children one day.

5. Honesty
For me honesty goes hand in hand with multiple things fx trust and communication and even independence. It makes me sick to my stomach when people are being dishonest with me or are keeping things from me. Any great relationship is built on great communication and great communication is built on honesty.
If someone has a problem with me I want them to tell me. If someone is curious about something about me and my life I want them to ask me. So always always be honest with people and speak what you think and feel. The truth may hurt for a little while but a lie hurts much longer.

It is also important to be honest with oneself. Sometimes I’m not completely honest with myself when it comes to acknowledging my own reactions to other people or situations and I need to work on that. I am already much better at it than I was a year ago but there's still lots of progress to be made.

___
So that's my 5 core values. It was so hard to just pick 5 and extra hard to share them with you but I'm really glad I did. Hopefully you'll do this task as well 'cause I would really love to read about your values.
Remember we are all different and core values may be difficult to put into words (at least for me, it's more something I feel spiritually y'know?) so be kind and respectful.

I would like all of you to do this but I'm officially asking Rosie(Cider with Rosie Bee), Charlotte(Charlottes Web Blog), Kizzy(The Dainty Dolls House) and Louise(Sprinkle Of Glitter).
