1 :: Solskin. Solens stråler tidligt morgen, de lune eftermiddage og de afsluttende solstråler, der altid gør at dagen ender med det mest magiske udseende. Humøret står bare ligeså højt på himlen som selve solen.

2 :: Lidl's hindbær is med chokolade stykker (vegansk, naturligvis).

Happy Easter ♥

Snuggled up on the sofa at 11:30am wearing my pj's and scruffy morning face. The fireplace is lit bringing warmth to this cold and sadly snowing Spring day. I've got my chocolate easter egg on my lap and the Holiday on the telly, one of my all time favourite films. Mum and grandma are sitting at the table behind me doing cross words having a little chat which I'll from time to time join in on while watching the film.

Being reminded that sometimes the best moments in life are the simple ones. Like having chocolate, tea and family.

Instagram update

In a completely random order:
1. Birthday cake - 2. My dog, Smuth, playing royal - 3. A little cheeky 'souvenir' from Jamie's Italian in Canary Wharf
4. Sneak Saturday - 5. Mirror mirror, on the wall... - 6. Girls night with old friends
7. Goofy aka Smuth - 8. Banana on ryebread, a favourite - 9. Utter bliss - sofa & fireplace
10. I was cold to the bone - 11. Blueberries, mhmm - 12. Funny faces while waiting for food

Instagram is one of my obsessions, I love it oh so much and I check it so much that I often have to restrain myself from bombarding my followers with pictures. Mine's @nannaemma what's yours? x

50 thank you's!

I woke up to some lovely news and immediately re-arranged my breakfast!
It may not sound like much to you, thousands of other bloggers have got my amount times 7438,2524.589, but this beautiful number is a real heart warmer to me! I know lots of my friends and family members read my blog but I must admit it's those 50 of you who've taken the time to press that little 'follow' button who tickles my fancy the most :)

Thank you very much for being apart of this little world of mine, I am so so pleased!
I think I mentioned a looooong time ago (when I had around 5 followers) that I'd do a giveaway if I ever reached 100, and back then I actually never thought I'd see this day come, but I'll stand by what I said, and perhaps there'll be a giveaway in the future. That would be exciting. But right now this is exciting.

Thanks again, have a beautiful day! x

10 things that have made me happy ♥

Adore this sign I found while visiting a tea shop with my best friend! Such truth :-)
1. Having a late night bed-talk with my mum and grandma. It was so lovely, all three of us in the same bedroom just having a chat about everything and nothing. So lovely, it made me very happy.

2. Feeling completely free while driving my car blasting One Direction. It's the best.

3. My morning routine; wake up, cuddle Smuth, put on slippers, bring duvet into living room, watch Smuth steal all of the duvet and sofa space (amazing how much a small dog can fill), make breakfast, eat breakfast while reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

4. Last Friday when you could actually smell Spring in the air :)

5. Baking and decorating cupcakes for my family. Love being creative!

6. Spending a full day with one of my best friends. Lots of eating, driving, film-watching, tea and crazy dancing.

7. Re-reading my post about my visit to the Harry Potter Studios. It was utterly amazing and I'm so glad I wrote about it and took pictures (all though my camera died so I missed the best part at the end :( )

8. Getting a phone call from my sis (who's currently spending two weeks in Thailand with our dad, stepmom and stepsisters) telling me she misses me and wishes I was there It's nice to be missed.

9. Doing exercise in the evening with mum and ending it with serveral high fives every time.

10. Eating lots and lots of melon - it's my absolute favourite food/fruit in the world and I can't imagine ever getting tired of it. My favourites are canary or cantaloupe ;)

Jar of happiness

A sweet little idea; write down all the good things that happens to you throughout the year and put them in a jar. Take the jar with you on New Years eve or sometime close to the ending of the year and sit and read all the good things you've had in your life during 2013. I'll do my very best to remember to do this!

10 things that have made me happy ♥

To be honest I could fill them all out plus fifty more with things about being back home! But I've made the habit of writing things down that makes me happy as they happen so I've had a few others to choose from :)

1) People letting me know they were really touched when they recieved my Christmas greeting letters. Makes me so happy and confident that I'll carry the tradition on. Move over facebook and e-mails, no one can compare with an old fashioned handwritten letter.

2) An evening filled with board games, candlelights, sweets, good friends and laughter. A kind of goodbye-night as lots of us in the house were leaving to go back home during Christmas.

3) A little homey café that serves the best chai latte ever. I quite fancy a chai latte but only ever the ones at Starbucks until I tried this one. I brought my book and sat there for a couple of lovely hours enjoying myself very much.

4) Embracing my mum for the first time in three months. Lots of happy crying, loads of happy sniffles and tons of happy smiles.

5) Finally finding the Cadbury Dairy Milk with oreo at the airport! Been looking for it for three months in both Sainbury's and Waitrose without any luck at all. It was better than anticipated so now I'll obviously have to write an exclamation mark-filled letter to the Danish supermarkets telling them to import Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate!

6) Wrapping up presents in cute wrapping paper from Marks & Spencers

7) Just being with my little dog again. Literally everything about him has made me happy; watching him run to the door in excitement as I ask him if he wants to go for a walk, waking up to him cuddled up next to me on my pillow between my head and shoulder, giving him a kiss every 10 minutes etc. ♥

8) Mum's homemade cooking ♡ oh, and add free food here as well!

9) Eating breakfast in the living room early in the morning admiring all our Christmas decorations and Christmas lights. I love the dark mornings and have really been enjoying them for the last few months.

10) And though I really could have picked another 10 this time I'll end the list with finally being behind the wheel again. Something exciting and freeing about driving after having taken the tube for three months ;)

Feeling good

A 6 minutes walk from home, down a cobbled narrow road decorated in fairy lights, a turn to the left and there it is, Oliver's Village Cafe. I've only been there three times, but it's three times in four days so I'd say it's quite a lot. Wish I could go there everyday or work there.

I went there this afternoon and had some lunch. Feeling a little adventurous I went for a vegetarian quiche (are quiche's always vegetarian?) as I've never had one before and completed it with a cup of chai latte there was large enough to last me a whole hour. I craved a slice of one of their yummy cakes as well but thought I'd better not as I wasn't actually hungry anymore and since I've been wanting to lose a little bit of weight. The quiche was very good, decided with myself that I must eat quiches more often.

As I sat there in the café snuggled up in my corner with my fooc, drink, HP book and Joni Mitchell playing softly in the background I realized just how happy, healthy and fortunate I am. I have been aware of this before but today I just really felt it in every fibre of my body.
I don't know if it's just me getting older or me being away from home or perhaps a mixture of both plus having a very great morning but it really striked me today; I love life.

So. Thanks. World. Thanks to everyone in my family for giving me the greatest childhood, an amazing family-bond, a security I can always count on. Thanks to all my dearest friends for being who they are. Thanks to those who reads my blog it absolutely brightens any poopy day. Thank you to all the strangers who treats me with kindness, thank you grass for being green, thank you everyone for everything.

Moments from the past few days

1/4 - Celebrated a friend's birthday at Wagamama in Hampstead with the new Chu Chee Curry and frozen yoghurt for dessert. At first we went to see the Christmas Tree ligthening at Trafalgar Square and then we ate and talked the night away. It was a very lovely evening spent in gorgeous company x

2/4 - Saw these pretty christmas decorations at the sweetest little café in Hampstead. Very pleasent thing to look at while eating lunch and getting warm.

3/4 - My roommate bought us some candlelights and we spent the evening listening to Christmas music with the lights turned off and the candlelights lit.

4/4 - I had these mazing scrambled eggs today in a little café we found in Hampstead. Had a sausage and green tea as well, it kept me full for the entire day :)

The best café in London

Tucked safely away in a small courtyard of east London this little cosy cafe is easily the best thing I have ever found in London. It has an incredible old-fashioned warmth and rustic feel to it not to mention their organic freshly homemade delicious food. They have you dreaming of home as soon as you put your feet inside.

I was absolutely over the moon for their festive decorations, interior, location and helpful service. The waitresses were three lovely girls dressed in cosy knit and cute skirts with a red apron and a friendly smile plastered on their faces. The café is called J+A named after the two sisters (Johanna & Aolfie) who run it. Our orders were taken by one of the sisters instead of one of the waitresses which made it feel even more special.

My two roommates and I went there to eat breakfast but just missed it as it ends 11 o'clock and we arrived at 11:25. So we ordered tea and hot chocolate and waited for lunch at 12. I had the most amazing pie with champ and the other two had a Christmas Club sandwich with homemade bread. It was so delicious. I think it's the best meal I've had in London so far.
I've already planned to go back there it was so lovely. It's even awaken an old dream of mine. Me and my dad have always wanted to open a café and it would definitely have to be something like this little hidden gem.

Next time I'll make sure to be there a little earlier cause their breakfast and brunch menu looks so yummy. If you want a warm and hearty café experience I can definitely recommend this. Perfect for any kind of date whether it be with a friend, family-member or someone special. x

Meet my mum

This lady is named Yvonne, she is 45 years old, naturally blonde, mother of two daughters and quite amazing.
You know those people who say "I can't understand how people can tell their parents everything"? Well me and mum have that kind of relationship. She is the one human being who understands me the best and never judges me. I know she is kind of obliged to be like that being my mum and all, but it was never her job to become my best friend and that she is.
I can't think of one single thing I haven't told her. Apart from when I was 6 and accidentally broke of a finger of one of our porcelain figurines and sneakily blamed my sister. She will know that now as well though as she's such a good sport and loyally reads my blog. It's a pretty great feeling being able to share everything

Mum likes a lot of things. She loves gardening and spends hours outside all year round making our garden look beautiful. She loves a good hot chocolate but prefers a glass of ice cold cola zero. She likes to experiment in the kitchen and though she's far to humble to admit it let me make it clear that all her dishes are amazing and tasty.
She's a family person and likes to take care of others' needs. She's even more of a animal person though and if placed in an emergency situation she would save the animal above the human (she's passed that on to me).
She has almost read all the Harry Potter books and holds them dearly but she prefers Wilbur Smith and his books. Jurassic Park is her favourite film and she has always wanted to be an archaeologist.
She is stubborn but open-minded at the same time. She has a great toothpaste smile and I don't doubt for a second that all the boys loved her when she was my age.
Apart from gardening she loves playing computer games. World of Warcraft has been her favourite the past several years.
She looks really pretty in floral dresses with her hair up but equally as beautiful in jeans, wellies and an oversized coat for a walk in the forrest.
If you ever need someone to talk to about something that people wouldn't categorize as 'normal' my mum is the one you'd want to go to. She's the best listener in the world. She's a really good song-writer as well. She hates when people say "I love you" just to say it, but she loves when I randomly stop whatever I'm doing during the day to call her and tell her I love her.

These are just a few main things about my mum, but now you've sort of met her.
I like her a lot and think you would too.

10 things that've made me happy recently

Once again here's my list of things that have put a smile on my face lately. View my last happy-list here or pop over to Rosie's blog the girl behind the happy-list idea :)

1. Getting off work for new years cause Amanda is coming to visit x

2. This might sound silly but it always makes me happy reading Rosie's happy list. It's full of little quirky moments and just generally reading Rosie's blog makes me cheery and in such a cosy mood :)

3.  As I mentioned in a previous post; getting an advent calendar in the post from my mum!

4. Spontaneously going out for dinner and dessert with some girl friends. I had some yummy garlic king prawns, rustic hummous and finished with a homemade apple-pie with a scoop of chocolate ice. Om.nom.

5. Blasting Christmas music all day without any objections from my housemates. They've actually asked me to play some instead of the usual "Seriously Nanna, it's not Christmas yet".

6. Late night walk in Hampstead Heath with Charlotte ♥ Oh and the silly dances we do, Disney Christmas movies we watch and many laughs we share.

7. Dad telling me he thinks I'm cool for being here in London and that he's proud. Touched my heart.

8. This one is quite obvious; visiting the Harry Potter studios. That's going to make my "10 things that have made be happy this year"

9. Reading Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone in the morning on my way to work and in the evening before I fall asleep. Decided to re-read all the books!

10. Waking up in the middle of the night thinking "I am sleeping so good" - haha!

I could have put at least 10 more in this list, but they'll just appear in the next one. Had already written most of the list last week so I'll stick with these 10 for now :)

What little things have made you smiley lately? x

Harry Potter Studios, London

Dear chummy readers,
tonight's post is for all you fellow Harry Potter-fans out there.

My good friend Charlotte and I went to the Harry Potter studios in London just yesterday, Monday the 19th 2012 (I'll probably remember this date forever). If you can't tell already by those few sentences or any previous posts; I am a massive Potter fan.
My mum read me the first book when I was just 7 years old and continued reading the next ones until I was able to read myself. I've since read all the books multiple times, watched the movies until I knew the all words and spent lots of days daydreaming about going to Hogwarts while cursing being a muggle. Was actually quite upset at the age of 12 when I realized that I wouldn't really get a Hogwarts letter.
So as you can imagine, being a part of the Harry Potter generation (and quite quite happy about it) I was completely thrilled to be going to the Warner Brothers studios to see all the Harry Potter costumes, sets, props, etc.

Can feel with myself right now that I'd be able to write a whole novel about this experience which neither of us really wishes to read so I'm just going to give you a brief summary of my trip.

We spent nearly 5 hours in there and could probably have used even longer time if we had gotten something to eat inbetween. There were so many things to see and so much to take in, I wish I'd worn my trainers with all the running-around we did! All the props were so cool and beautifully made and the sets, oh boy, they were amazing. It felt like I was standing inside the films, like Ron or any other character was going to pop in at any time.
We tried the butterbeer which I absolutely loved but I don't think Charlotte fancied it very much. We flew in the blue enchanted car and even took a quiditch lesson over the castle and through the streets of London!

My absolute favourite parts of the trip were seeing the great hall, Privet Drive, the Weasley's home, the castle, the boys' doorm, Dobby and Buckbeak (yep, just a few). It was also so thrilling seeing all their original costumes; they are literally tiny people though, so short and so skinny.

All the emplyees there were so lovely and kind and one even encouraged us to apply for a job there. Wouldn't be bad working there, would it.
After the tour I bought a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, a chocolate frog (I got Rovena Rawenclaw inside!), a bag of minty dark small chocolate frogs and the complete collection of all 7 books.
Already got them all at home, but haven't got the 5 first ones in English so I thought why not buy the whole box while I'm here.

We spent the rest of the evening  trying out the Every Flavour Beans making faces when we got some with nasty flavours; particularly didn't like the dirt or rotten egg flavor. But the sherbet lemon and earwax was quite nice.

All in all it was a truly magical day, definitely one of the best days I've had all year.
Have you ever been there, and have you written a blogpost about it? I'd love to hear and read about it!

PS. I actually tried not taking too many photos so I could just enjoy everything through my own two eyes, but I did manage to take some. I wanted them to look as though I was right there at Hogwarts etc. so I hope you get that feeling and enjoy them. x
